Telephone
Assistance (TTY) for Hearing Impaired Customers
Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots offers a telephone device
to assist hearing-impaired customers. "Obtaining and installing
this equipment allows us to better serve all customers, and we are
delighted to improve service in another way."
The device, commonly referred to as a "TTY" or "TDD"
machine, connects directly into a phone line. By using a keyboard,
the County Clerk's Office can hold a conversation with a
hearing-impaired customer using typed text. Information about
registering to vote, upcoming elections, obtaining certified copies
of vital records or applying for a marriage license are just a few
ways our TTY line can be of service. Those interested in contacting
the County Clerk's Office using a TTY machine can call (815)
740-4621.
